Tech firm, HSFN team up to sponsor and host day-long focus on annual drama linked to determining the destinies of several major college football programs

Ridgeland, Mississippi (December 13, 2016) – The annual dating ritual between top recruits and major college football programs in Mississippi and across the country is just about over. Now it’s time to get some early optics on which players and schools have decided to go steady for the next several years.

C Spire is teaming up with the High School Football Network (HSFN) to sponsor and host a day-long Signing Day program Wednesday focused on answering a few of the burning questions from die-hard college football fans about where some of their favorite high school and junior college stars have decided to play on Saturday.

Two top high school prospects and 12 top junior college stars are scheduled to formally announce their commitments Wednesday during the special signing day program, which will be live streamed from the first floor conference center of the diversified telecom and technology company’s corporate offices.

Four-star Grenada High School safety C. J. Avery, a Dandy Dozen selection and an early enrollee, will announce his choice from among offers by Auburn, Louisville, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Clinton High School three-star running back Darius Maberry, verbally committed to Southern Miss, also will disclose his choice.

Other top high school recruits expected to attend the event and discuss their recruitment are Hattiesburg wide receiver Jordan Murphy, a Tennessee verbal commit, Columbus running back Kylin Hill, a Mississippi State verbal commit and MRA offensive guard Saahdiq Charles, an LSU verbal commit.

The program starts at 1 p.m. with top junior college players disclosing their school choices followed by the high school segment at 6 p.m. Fans can watch the drama online at HSFN’s website or download the HSFN app from iTunes or the Google Play Store.

Beginning at 3 p.m., SuperTalk’s statewide sports radio talk show - Head to Head with Matt Wyatt and Richard Cross - will broadcast their three-hour program remotely from the same location featuring live interviews with players, coaches and the latest recruiting news from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss among other schools.

The program is co-hosted by Wyatt, a former Mississippi State quarterback. and Cross, a radio and television sports reporter and personality.
